About

Hi, I’m Cindy, a certified equine massage therapist based in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. My journey into animal wellness began more than a decade ago through my career in healthcare, where I work in diagnostic imaging for over 10 years. Caring for my grandmother with Alzheimer’s inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others, treating every patient like family. That same compassion and dedication now extends to the horses I work with.

A Lifelong Love for Horses

I grew up in Michigan surrounded by horses. My dad and grandpa both raised Belgians and Norwegian Fjords for horse pulls, shows, and sleigh rides. My first partner was a mischievous Shetland pony, followed by Bullet, a half-Quarter Horse, half-Tennessee Walker who carried me through just about everything — 4-H, rodeo, jumping, reining, saddle seat, and even pulling a one-horse sleigh. In high school, I gave riding lessons, worked at the racetrack, and at a private stable specializing in dressage and jumping. Horses have always been at the center of my world, and I’ve always felt a special ability to connect with them on a deeper level.

Why Equine Massage

Originally, I learned massage to help my own horses. Once I saw how much it improved their performance, behavior, and relaxation, I knew I wanted to share it with others. I became certified in equine massage therapy so I could offer these same benefits to horses throughout the SLV and surrounding areas. Massage helps improve circulation, release tension, support recovery, and promote relaxation. The most rewarding part of my work is feeling the shift in a horse’s energy — from anxious and guarded to calm, soft, and nearly falling asleep under my hands.

My Farm & My Approach

For the past 9 years, I’ve called the San Luis Valley home, where I live on a small hobby farm with alpacas, llamas, horses, mini donkey, goats, and chickens/ducks. Patience, gentleness, and respect are at the heart of my approach. Every horse is different, which is why I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of the animal in front of me — whether they’re a performance horse, a backyard companion, or anything in between.

Looking Ahead

I’m continuing my education in advanced equine massage, pre- and post-event massage, equine acupressure, and kinesiology taping so I can provide the highest level of care for your horse. If you’d like to learn more about how equine massage can support your horse’s health, performance, and overall well-being, I’d love to talk with you. Contact me today to schedule a session and discover the difference equine massage can make for your horse.
